Global Monitoring

Hardware and software system for telemetry

The Astrocard® Telemetry Global Monitoring hardware and software system for telemetric ECG recording is designed for wireless, remote, continuous real-time electrocardiogram monitoring over extended periods of up to 30 days.

Astrocard® Telemetry
3-lead ECG monitoring for an unlimited number of patients simultaneously
Compact, user-friendly ECG recorders
Retrospective ECG analysis using Holter monitoring software
ECG transmission over mobile networks
Freedom of movement for the patient
Continuous 3-lead ECG monitoring over extended periods of up to 30 days

As with conventional Holter monitoring, the patient wears a dedicated ECG recorder that acquires a 3-lead ECG. The recorder’s built-in module transmits the ECG over mobile networks to a dedicated cloud server, where it is stored. It can then be sent to a computer for analysis and to physicians’ mobile phones (iOS and Android) for recording-quality control.

During monitoring, the patient can move freely within mobile network coverage. If mobile connectivity is unavailable, the recorder stores the ECG in its built-in memory and uploads it to the cloud when connectivity is restored.

Telemetry monitoring therefore provides:

  1. High-quality, continuous 3-lead ECG recording for up to 30 days, with the patient replacing disposable electrodes under physician supervision
  2. Diagnosis of infrequent conditions associated with cardiac arrhythmias, including detection of asymptomatic atrial fibrillation
  3. The option to terminate monitoring early when a diagnostically significant event occurs

Treatment monitoring and postoperative follow-up:

Adjustment

Adjustment of antiarrhythmic drug therapy

Follow-up

- Monitoring of patients with chronic heart failure.
- Follow-up after arrhythmia ablation

Remote monitoring

The patient does not need to attend the clinic. Monitoring and record analysis can be performed independently of each other.

Monitoring

Monitoring of patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators or cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators

Cloud

Patient ECGs recorded during monitoring at the central station can be analyzed as standard 24-hour (Holter) monitoring recordings, with the following capabilities:

ECG review and presentation

  • Review of 2–3-lead or 12-lead ECGs
  • Presentation of analysis results as charts and tables

Automatic ECG analysis and classification

  • Automatic classification of ventricular complexes by morphology
  • Automatic analysis of ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, after expert physician review of QRS complex types
  • Manual correction of automated analysis results

ST-segment and ischemia analysis

  • ST-segment trend analysis
  • Automatic calculation of heart rate, RR and ST trends (for all channels)

Rhythm and variability analysis

  • Calculation of spectral and time-domain heart rate variability parameters over 24 hours, for each hour of the recording, and for any 5-minute interval
  • Analysis of arrhythmia frequency
  • Heart rate turbulence analysis

ECG intervals and morphology

  • Calculation of the QT interval at the apex and end of the T wave (QTa and QTe)
  • Analytical (regression equation) and graphical calculation of the relationship between QT and RR intervals over 24 hours
  • P-wave analysis, including determination of the PQ interval and analysis of P-on-T events (PTAFDEG® algorithm)
  • QRST alternans analysis

Specialized algorithms and events

  • Automatic detection of pacemaker spikes and analysis of the function of major types of implanted pacemakers
  • Detection of nocturnal apnea episodes
